Pop icon Katy Perry and Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom have officially ended their 9-year relationship.

Katy Perry, a 40‑year‑old pop star, and Orlando Bloom, a 48‑year‑old actor, have officially confirmed the end of their relationship, which lasted nearly nine years. Perry and Bloom met at the Golden Globes after‑party in 2016, started dating shortly after, and announced their engagement on Valentine’s Day, 2019. Their first child, a daughter, Daisy Dove, was born in August 2020.

The couple appeared to have a complicated romance, as they were separated for a brief time in 2017, reunited in 2018, engaged again, and ready to resolve any issues, but sometimes love is not meant to last forever.

“Trouble had followed them for years.” Both were overcommitted to their jobs, unable to communicate and held fundamentally different beliefs about life and family. They enjoyed little quality time together and were unable to resolve their differences, which left them “on an island of stress.”

Both were committed to making the relationship work but simply fell out of sync over time.

Their split is described as sad, yet peaceful and amicable, with a focus on both loving their daughter.
Katy Perry is in the middle of her “Lifetime World Tour” and has just played some shows in Australia.

Orlando Bloom has kept a low profile, but his internal state has been quite loud via his social media. He posted a series of thought-provoking and uplifting quotes from Carl Jung and the Buddha that touched on loneliness, sadness, new beginnings, and taking brave steps forward.

He attended the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez in Venice by himself, looking reasonably calm and meditative.

Both Perry and Bloom are committed to providing the best potential upbringing for her. They agree that it will be better for Daisy to be born and raised in a peaceful, respectful environment than to remain in a tense environment.

They also agreed to keep co-parenting together as a family, either going out together as a family or alternating with lots of love and respect.
