Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Break Up After Nearly 10 Years

They were the cutest celebrity couple together since 2016, engaged in 2019, and had their beautiful daughter Daisy Dove, but after almost a decade, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have called it quits. So what went wrong? Let’s explore.

Their romance was an obvious one, after meeting at a Golden Globes after-party, where there was burger-flirting and a little scandal. They took a break in 2017 to focus on their growth—him on his retreat and her the following year—and came back together in 2018 which led to their engagement in 2019.

Their daughter, Daisy Dove, was born in the midst of the pandemic, and they settled into life in Montecito.

Reality starts kicking in. Katy’s “Lifetimes” tour launches in April, and Orlando is touring film sets in China weddings, and doing humanitarian work in Africa. Days apart added up.

Busy lives far apart schedules seem like Katy’s global tour after Orlando’s filming abroad simply did not align. “They grew apart-not living the same lives,” a source tells.

Emotional burnout: the stress of receiving feedback from album release and the fallout from her Blue Origin space flight have weighed down on her. In fact, she turned off Instagram comments, but even removed her ring, which is classic breakup behavior.

Katy has shared before that she needs to work on herself (with therapy, personal retreats, etc.), and noted that she and Orlando have worked on themselves since they first split in 2017. Orlando clarified that they “keep working on us,” pointing to their life together as the building of a sandcastle. 

But this time they are both feeling there is “no way forward on a solid relationship,” yet they respect each other.

No scandal, no public drama, only two people realizing that love sometimes turns to friendship. They are transitioning from romantic partners to co-parents, and are focused on the best for Daisy. They are ending a nearly 10-year relationship with class. 

Panoti’s prediction: both will likely post more about family, Katy will take time for themselves in peace and quiet, and there will be some shared co-parenting posts from Venice-Australia. The Hollywood power couple? They may be off-line, but their bond to each other as parents remains.
